Ingolf Norman Kiland was born March 26, 1895, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He commanded the Transport Division, Amphibious Force from 1942 to 1943, and achieved the rank of rear admiral in September 1944. He retired as vice admiral in April 1957. Kiland died on March 10, 1992. From the description of Kiland, Ingolf N.
